As a foreigner you will not be able to rent an apartment at the locals price. My suggestion is that you contact a translator or a friend if you have any in the Ukraine in the cities that you chose to live in. They can look through the paper and contact people for you. You will most likely find that most people who are renting use agents. This is a good way to go as they will find you a place at a decent price but you will have to pay them a commission any where from 500 UAH to half of the cost of one months rent.

Now here is the other question I have for you? Do you know you can only stay in the country for 3 months legally without some kind of Visa. As well you are limited to 180 days per calendar year as your length of stay due for tax reasons.

You can get a Visa to stay longer but it is a little complicated on how and who to get it through. Some visa will allow you to stay in the country for 1 year but you will still have to leave every 3 months but you will be able to return with no or little hassle.

Good luck.
