If I were a marketing manager, the way I would increase the appeal of home decorating to men is by advertising how simple it can be. And about how nice it is to be a bachelor….but, not have to have your home look like you are a bachelor.

I would play up aspects of your stores service personnel. I would stress how helpful and easy they make it for a guy to decorate his place himself….with a little help from them.

And, I would stress, somehow, that it can be a fast and easy ordeal. Men typically don’t like slaving over decorating books and spending hours shopping.

They want to get into a store…and back out asap.

I really do like the bachelor angle, though….. Be a bachelor…just don’t make your home scream bachelor.

Hope this helps!

Have highly knowledgable “booth babes” in the store. Nothing is more appealing to a man that a hot, intelligent female.

Sex sells and you know it.

I’d go with the adult angle for younger men. Something like “You’re not in college anymore. So why does your home look like a dorm?” or “It’s your first house, not your frat house.”
