I’m getting ready to purchase my first home. I need some ideas for color schemes, etc.
The bathroom is taken care of- the bottom part of the wall is to be a regular/dark purple perhaps tiled, the top half is to be painted a light purple to lighten up the room. The toothbrush and soap holders are the same and the shower curtain is the darker purple. Is it ok?
As far as the rest of the house we will redo bit by bit. We like sort of the modern stuff and bright colors. Nothing too drabby.
Living room- The entertainment center and end tables are black the tv and speakers are silver/black….please create something with this.
Bedroom-the furniture is a medium colored wood
Bedroom 2 and 3….one will be guest room one will be office/storage
kitchen-anything goes
Most creative/unique, hot, wins 10 pts
Thanks!

what you can do is smear mayonnaise and bologna all over your walls and hang bread from the ceiling. Its not hot but I guarantee it is unique.
or you could give your living room so maybe black leather furniture to compliment the enterainment center and then have a color that contrasts with that maybe a red and have red appliances.
Bedroom- you should not have white walls with medium colored wood but you could use a light blue or a blue grey for walls and bed covers.
Bedroom 2 and 3 use wood bed and maybe a wood dresser (dark wood) and you can paint the walls white. You can use metal furnature for the office either black or grey and have white or a light color for the walls and a light brown carpet.
kitchen wood cabinets and a green counter then get mostly black or mostly white appliances and if you get a light brown wood floor make the cabinates light brown.

i suggest double-duty furniture for the living room e.g. this shelf that’s also a lamp
i love the sound of the bathroom. thats so awesome!!!!!
for the loungeroom you could try red or blue. they go really well with blacks and silvers. i love the way your into bright colors. it lightens the mind and soul. you sound like a very happy cheerful person. hope you have great fun with your renovations and decorating.
good luck

First, this book is a miracle, i love it!
There’s also ikea. the thing with bright colours is that you might grow tired of them after a while. I would go with more neutralized colours for walls and pop colour with accessories and wall art.
Bathroom: You might grow tired of purple after a while. If you ever want to change it, change the accessories to a beige or turquoise.
hallways: yellow-y beige?
Living room: Walls - tamed turquoise, violet or yellow would go well with the black and silver. And for sofas and that i would go with a pattern that has detail in the pallette of the walls to “match”
Bedroom: a softer colour would be more relaxing. try jade or light orange. maybe with japanese/ asian theme with bamboo and black highlights.
Guest: keep it like a hotel room simple but with a personal touch. Post pictures of the family. Keep a clock and comfy covers so that people arent too cranky in the morning.
Office: make sure you separate storage and office so that the clutter doesnt over take your mind while working. Try with a wooden seperator or panels with a pattern to give life to the office. Walls: indigo and beige
Kitchen: I love plants in kitchen. Try having fresh herbs, like basil, parsley, mint… Red and black or white in a kitchen with a retro feel is super. if you’re more modern try apple green with wooden or bright white cabinets.
Most of all: make it yours!
