so far i have nothing on the walls. the walls are light brown in my room and light yellow in the kitchen. what can i put up in them?

Well any type of pictures and art can hang in your room, hallways, living area, dining area and kitchen. Art in the kitchen is usually food related. Other areas could have framed landscapes, city scenes, etc.. You could buy a creative photo frame and center it above your tv in the living area and put family/friends pictures in it. Decorative shelves work in almost any room, with candles, flowers or picture frames on it.
Wrought iron wall art is inexpensive and a great way to decorate any room.
