I am a renter in Brooklyn, NY. My lease will expire at the end of this months, but my new place is not ready. I have asked the management office to let me continue leasing on a monthly basis but was told no. Legally, can I stay for another month if I continue to pay rent after my lease expires? What should I do? What is my right as a tenant?
