I just signed the lease forms for a walkup rental apartment in NYC on the UES. I have lived in NYC for 5 years but with my parents so I wondered– can you paint the walls of a rental studio? I love my new apartment but I HATE the color of the cream on the walls. its too yellow. uck. Could I just go ahead and paint them if I paint them back at the end?

I usually depends on your lease. If your lease allows you to change the color of the walls, go for it. If your lease doesn’t mention it, I would ask your landlord. If you tell him you’ll paint it back when you move out, he might be ok with that.
ask the super first and get it in writing.
then you’ll know
Ask the landlord chances are they will be fine with some might deduct it off the rent
ask your super first and make sure you get it in writing could mean getting your deposiot back in the end. even if you do paint it back the old color
It should tell u in the lease if you can paint or have it painted.
yes as long as you paint them back
