Can someone who has declared bankruptcy still be approved as a co signer on an apartment rental?

apartment rental

My father has recently declared bankruptcy because he ran up an overwhelming amount of credit card debt. He does make a very good monthly salary though. I am trying to rent an apartment and I need a co signer. Even though his credit is bad, he still meets the income qualification. Do you think he would be approved as my co signer?

No. As a landlord your dad has no credibility as a responsible party capable and willing to pay the bills. Either find another guarantor or stay living at home. No landlord will rent to you

Depends on the landlord. Some landlords do credit checks and some don’t.
